Garage Demolition

Tuesday, August 5, 2014

In order to make room for the new garage palace I had to have the old structures and foundation delicately removed. This man and his Bobcat knocked everything down and hauled it away in half a day.

First he knocked down the old 12' x 2', stucco sided garage. But he did it so gently it didn't collapse into the alley or throw up huge clouds of dust a debris.

Then he rolled the icosahedron barn on its side. This was just wood so there was nothing complicated about it at all.

All of this went into the first two dumpsters. He carefully swept the concrete of all remaining demolition debris before proceeding to smash up the concrete foundation.

The concrete had to go in a separate dumpster because, you know what, concrete is recyclable. Maybe some of the concrete that got busted up ended up in the new concrete I had poured for the new foundation? I'm just going to go ahead and believe that.
